Today we used our "sliders" as blank numberlines. We then had to justify what number our marker was on based on mathematical reasoning. We had to use key skills including our knowledge of the number system, experiences of numberlines, halving, partitioning and recombining to give mathematically plausible answers and justifications. Our brains have been well and truely stretched!
