Welcome to Early Years
Introducing you to our wonderful Early Years Team, Miss Wild (Teacher), Miss Smith (TA) and Mrs Leach (SMSA).
In the Early Years Foundation Stage
In Early Years our learning is derived from the children's interests. When your child enters Foundation Stage they will have submitted a list of their personal interests, which are taken into consideration and used as a basis to create a child-led curriculum. Within that curriculum, there are a number of areas of learning
CL - Communication and Langua
ge
L - Literacy
M - Mathematics
PD - Physical Development
EAD - Expressive Arts and Design
UW - Understanding the World
PSED - Personal, Social, Emotional Development
Children will be assessed through play and observations, against these areas throughout their first year in school.

Our Chosen Reading Scheme

For our earliest readers starting their reading journey, we use fully decodable readers from Oxford University Press. We have over 100 fiction and non‑fiction books, with beautiful artwork, humour and characters that children love, and books and topics that the children really want to read. The books are carefully matched to the phonics being taught within school and complement the reading stage your child is at providing challenge and reinforcement that works in partnership with the learning taking place within school.
