Over the holidays remember to keep up with your reading, your mega maths challenge and of course your spellings. The spellings featured are for the spelling test to be held on the first Friday back (4.11.16) 

After a day of pirate singing, parachute games, sea exploration role play, "ar" phonics, pirate focused learning and pirate jokes and poetry we all deserve a little snack!

Hard tack is an acquired taste, lucky you the children have made enough for you to sample using a four hundred year old recipe!

Don't forget it's pirate day tomorrow. All children to come prepared for the great sea adventure ahead. 

When listening to your child read tonight why not spend a couple of minutes investigating how many verbs they can spot by skim reading each page and challenging them to beat you. You could also use this opportunity to explore their knowledge (and ability) to spot other word classifications eg…
